So last night… I headed off to the totally awesome Beefcakes (40 Somerset Rd, Green Point) with my chickas for a bit of fun and some “Bitchy Bingo”.
Beefcakes is yes, you guessed it, on the “pink strip”… but everyone’s welcome, well except those homophobes out there, you will not have a good time here – and frankly, you can stay at home and watch sport on TV all alone all night for all I care in any case!!! haha.
Our waitor, Ryan, was so lovely – and I have to point out that he told us that he designed & made Princess Pop’s outfit – our Bingo lady for the evening.
The best part is that you’re provided with really cheesy but fun hats to wear – like this:

My signature "Kandi pose"... will have to explain that one on a later post, once I get to know you guys better
The menu is filled with playfully named items – burgers, salads and such – all totally tasty.
Oh and then there’s also some naughty desserts:
And for those out there who are a bit concerned that “the gays” don’t know a good burger, just check this out losers:
I went for the Gourmet burger – beef burger with camembert, cranberry jelly & rocket. Pure bliss on a plate… oh yeah…
OK – so a good tip here is to get there no later than 8pm and book a table people! This place gets pretty busy, especially on Bitchy Bingo Tuesdays. If you get there at 8 you have enough time to have a quick bite & some drinks before the main event kicks off at around 9pm.
The interior is filled with pink, flamingos & lots of bling. Now would you have expected anything less!?!
OK, so after scoffing down our food with big smiles on our faces, we were given our bingo sheets. Here’s me warming up for the big game:
And then came our singing and dancing bingo diva for the evening – Princess Pop:
She had that whole “Santon kugel” thing down… “Like OK dahlings, ja…” She was brilliant. And she could totally bust out a tune as well. We were all in awe of her super toned legs. Must get my ass back into gym! Seriously now… To help her with the bingo balls – we were introduced to Patrick, the “ball boy” – woohoo:
I was left thinking “Hmmm… maybe I also need a ball boy…” haha. I could picture myslef sitting on my couch, shouting commands like: “Patrick dahling, bring me my phone” or “Patrick dahling, my shoulders are sooo tight, a massage is needed right now” Would be pretty sweet…
So seeing as the game of bingo is totally based on luck… things were NOT going well for me. Of course if it had anything to do with actual skill, I would have rocked that place. But oh well… to keep spirits up, we decided to focus our energies on fun pics:
And here’s me and Dani… getting um… frisky… (you see, we have an agreement – if things with the male species don’t work out, we’re totally hooking up).
But in reality, Dani’s hubby Fabian is like the most awesome husband in the world! The dude came around to Beefcakes earlier and bought us a bottle of sparkly and a bottle of wine for the table as a surprise… listen up all husbands out there, THIS is the standard now! Love you Fabes. xxx
Here’s a random shot of flamingos getting frisky as well:
After the show, Leila and myself were lucky enough to get up close and personal with the princess herself…
Had such a brilliant evening. Filled with lots of laughs and surprises. If you haven’t yet been, what the hell are you waiting for!?! Book that table right now! They have different events on every day of the week, so check out their website for more info.
Chat soon my lovelies. xxx

So funny, what an awesome night! FYI I saw our waiter Ryan at the airport this morning. He obviously got a load of tips last night which afforded him a holiday somewhere:-)
Really? Geeze, talk about a small world hey! He’s probably running of with the bingo winnings we got cheated out of. haha. x
Love your new blog! Was an awesome girls night out… loved the eye candy! Well chosen venue Miss K… cant wait to see what’s in store for next time… x
It’s my pleasure darling! Too bad the eye candy couldn’t care less about our assests. haha. xxx
Hahaha! “Check this out losers. BAM! In your face!”
Seems like a fun night!
What is this “pink strip” you speak of? I’ve never heard of it… is is a gay-friendly neighborhood?
Yeah, the pink strip is basically the De Waterkant / Green Point area which has a couple of gay bars and restaurants. Also the area is known for some seriously fabulous property as well – because nobody can renovate & decorate quite like a gay man! haha. But the whole of Cape Town is gay friendly really.
Fabulous post my love… But I still can’t believe we didn’t win! X x x
I know, right!?! We totally got cheated… xxx
Oooh, i see the entertainment lost some weight… hie hie.
Looks like you all had a “bring it on sista: evening !
Ja, Princess Pop had a much better figure than the lady they had there when we went last time. haha. x
