The stress reduction kit

So we’ve just come out of the looooong Easter weekend, my holiday in Mozambique is booked for the end of the month AND we’ve still got another 2 public holidays to look forward to in April.  I should be really stoked and uber relaxed, right?

Sadly, that’s a big fat NO on my side.  During my 9 and a bit years of working in IT, public holidays and taking some leave have very often not been the blessings one would expect them to be.  Public holidays are usually great opportunities to upgrade, replace or implement something.  OR they mean you’ll just be putting in extra hours the following week because you’re working on some crazy deadline.  Going on vacation on the other hand means doing a lot of extra prep work before you can go to ensure that things keep moving forward while you’re away.  Blegh.

So, hopefully you’ll understand why I’m feeling a little stressed out and buggered at the moment…

Then to add to that, today is also Friday the 13th!  From what I’ve learnt in movies, you should be avoiding black cats, big creepy houses and dudes wearing hockey masks & carrying chainsaws… Nothing good can come of this day. ;)

To help me de-stress, I asked my good friend Google for some advice.  Google came back with this “Stress Reduction Kit”.  After studying it for a few minutes, I must say, it looks totally legit:

I have printed it out and am ready to give it a bash (excuse the pun haha).  This will get me through the rest of April I’m sure.  Who’s with me? :)
