WalkedThru Cape Town

You might have noticed the new WalkedThru logo in my sidebar…  it looks just like this one here to the left.  This logo means that I’m now part of the WalkedThru blogging community.

Who/what is WalkedThru?  Well basically they search the web for blogs covering certain topics or expertise and then link these through to their site to provide somewhat of a “on-stop-shop” for all kinds of information.  You’ll find info here about anything ranging from history, sport, places to visit, fashion, hobbies, books, beauty, food… anything & everything really.

They have asked me to be their Cape Town “Walker” – that’s what they call their featured bloggers – so if people search for or click on Cape Town on the WalkedThru site, they will be directed over here!  Isn’t that cool? :)

To keep up with the WalkedThu community yourself, like their Facebook page or follow them on Twitter.

Here’s to possible new My Love Affair with Cape Town visitors.  The more people I can get to fall in love with this city with me, the better. ;)

The Mist

Who’s seen that movie The Mist?  It’s based on a Stephen King novel and was released back in 2007 and was one of those movies that just creeped the living daylights outta me.  I don’t want to give it away in case you haven’t seen it, but it also has one of the most messed up endings in movie history, like ever…

Anyhoo, waking up this morning I felt like The Mist had finally come to get me!

Wait, where did the mountain go???

Surely this is good enough reason not to have to go into work. I mean, I could die out there!

I was seriously close to pulling a “sickie” – I mean, just in case there were actually massive spider type alien creatures waiting to lay its eggs inside my body.  Totally rational right? ;)

Give some love with a teddy bear or two

This weekend, the ladies from Blink Boutique will be collecting teddy bears for the children at Grootte Schuur hospital.  Just pop on over to the Dermalogica store in Wembley Square and spread a bit of love by donating any teddy, old or new, to go to a little somebody who could really use a cuddly friend to get them through some scary stuff…
