The next time the weather is poo and you feel like a nice steamin’ cup-a-something paired with an indulgent treat, do pop into Origin in De Waterkant.

Everytime I set foot in this place it is absolutely packed.  So clearly it’s a favourite with Capetonians in general.  What I really like about the place is that it’s got such a great feel.  Kinda like “Yeah, we’re pretty slick ‘n all, but do come on in and make yourself comfortable, we’ll take care of you”…

Anyways, on a recent visit Bjorn and I decided to go on a bit of a sugar binge and tried their giant cookie (a serias steal at only R8) and also their sticky pecan muffin (R16.5):

Yum and yum…

The giant cookie actually has big chunks of chocolate in it.  Sooo evil.  And the muffin truly is soft and sticky inside.  Perrrrfection.  Yes, like me, you will probably hate yourself for eating these babies afterwards.  But don’t worry, the guilt only lasts about 5 – 10min.
