Have you heard about Cape Town restaurant week?

Just the other day I discovered Cape Town restaurant week which is brought to you by DiningCity and taking place from 22 – 29 Sep.  Basically the idea is that Capetonians will be able to experience fine dining but at an affordable price.  Several top Cape Town restaurants have stepped up to the plate to offer diners a special 3 course dinner for only R200 or a 3 course lunch for R125.  Some of the restaurants have what they call a DiningCity Star which mean they have a R50 surcharge on their menus (making it R250 for dinner and R175 for lunch), but even so, you’re getting a damn good deal.

I’m totally loving this idea because there are so many restaurants which I’ve been dying to try out, but they’re all pretty pricey, so unless you’re earning big money, they’re not really the kind of places you’ll just pop into any day of the week any ol’ time… ;)

You can check out the full list of participating restaurants over here.  I’m most looking forward to try 5 Rooms & Catharina’s in Constantia,  the Planet Restaurant at the Mount Nelson and the Roundhouse (finally).
Very important to note: Bookings are only possible via the www.restaurantweek.co.za website.  But according to the site, bookings will be confirmed instantly & are realtime.

Also, if you’re keen to get out of the city for a bit, there are a few Winelands Restaurants participating as well.  You can check out that list over here.

Oooooh, I really can’t wait.  I’m hungry already! :)
