Last Thu eve I popped into a little photographic exhibition which was being hosted at the Vida e caffè in Wembley Square.
It was called Rock Me Again (i.e. wear me again) and it’s an annual recycled fashion initiative which was founded back in 2008 by Capsule Projects in association with Jameson & Vida e. The aim behind it is to make people stop and think about things like responsible consumption & waste reduction, and especially the negative effects of today’s “fast fashion” industry on the planet. So to do this, they bring together talented designers, photographers & stylists to create images with a strong message.
Something I really loved was that this year they also decided to use ballerinas from the Cape Town City Ballet as their models. Aren’t ballerinas just the most beautiful, graceful beings ever?
Anyhoo, there were 14 images on display, of which these were my favourites:

Designer: Joel Janse van Vuuren; Photographer: Gavin Kleinschmidt; Stylist: Francois Ferreira; Hair & Make-up: Sian Moss; Ballerina: Cleo Ames

Designer: Rachel de Mardt; Photographer: Damon Fourie; Stylist: Chiara Lorenza; Hair & Make-up: Dale Titus; Ballerina: Celeste George

Designer: Samantha Constable; Photographer: Sivan Miller; Stylist: Nicky van Eck; Hair & Make-up: Dale Titus; Ballerina: Cleo Ames

Designer: Lara Klawikowski; Photographer: Igor Polzenhagen; Hair & Make-up: Kirsty Cochuis; Ballerina: Meghan Henegan

Designer: Christopher Strong; Photographer: Josie Borain; Stylist: Monica Tusinska; Hair & Make-up: Sue Michael; Ballerina: Celeste George
Well done to all the ladies & gents involved in this year’s project. I think you guys created something quite beautiful here.
