If you don’t have plans for the weekend yet, here are two options which should be pretty great.
The first is The Big Brewhaha! fest happening on Fri, 26 Oct & Sat 27 Oct at the German Club in Roodehek Terrace (just off Hope St, Gardens).
Things kick off at 12:00 sharp on Fri and carry on until about 2am on Sun morning. Expect great music acts (including a regte egte German Oompa band, The Nomadic Orkestra and more), some hot & steamy dancing in the Salsa Room, craft beer & other micro-brewer treats, meaty sausages galore (hehe) and lots of other yummy things.

The thing that really caught my eye though was their list of “Roaming performers”. Check it out:
Feather Gals
Mr Sausages
You Naughty Monkey
Tap dancing Policemen
The Gargoyle
The Renegade Bingo Crew
Have to say, that sounds pretty damn interesting.
Tickets can be bought at the door or via Quicket – you can check out all the details over here.
Then on Sun, 28 Oct – why not check out some amazing short films while enjoying the outdoors. Remember the Short & Sweet film festival I attended back in June & July? Well they’ve got an exciting new project - an open air film experience out in Muizenberg.
Short & Sweet has teamed up with Muizenbosch to bring you a Moonlight Meander Celebration of short films, music videos and short animations suitable for the whole family.
All this short film awesomeness will take place at the Muizenburg Bowling Green. The gates will open at 6pm and the first film kicks off at 7:30pm. Tickets cost only R40 pp and you can get them via Webtickets over here. They’re suggesting you bring a nice blankie or two and that you get there early to secure a good seat. There’s also talk of free popcorn and “other surpsises”. Ooooooh.
So there you go guys, weekend plans sorted.
