I have to laugh at myself… every single time I get out of a Bikram yoga class, I feel so calm & relaxed and I always think to myself “Wow, absolutely nothing can make a dent in how at peace I’m feeling right now”… “I’m at one with the earth and the earth is at one with me”…
BUT THEN, as soon as I leave that bloody parking garage my road rage kicks in and that feeling of “Zen” goes right out of the window! haha. So that’s 90min of hard work, to feel calm for 5min… hmmmm.
Then that got me thinking… maybe, just maybe, road rage is my true Zen!?
Let me explain: I’m rarely happier than when I’m behind the wheel, swearing at stupid drivers, flashing not so friendly hand gestures and riding up cars’ asses if they’re going to slow in the fast lane (I mean seriously people, if you can’t drive, move into the slow loser lane. It’s common road etiquette).
You should see the massive grin on my face during those moments. I’m like the bloody cheshire cat!!!
I actually really look forward to my 20min drive from town to Bellville on the N1 to get to work. How many people can say that? By the time I get to office, I feel exhilarated and ready to face the day ahead. Isn’t that what better than the short lived yoga zen? I think it is… and I’m sticking to my story damn it!
Watch out for me on the roads guys & gals… I’ll be watching you… xxx
