My Ooh! Box number 2 arrived

About a month ago I told you guys about my first Ooh! Box delivery here.  Well my 2nd one arrived last Friday and I have to say, I think this one is even better than the first one.

In this Ooh! Box I got 4 wines.  One sparkling, one white & two reds.  Check it out:

From left to right you have:

  • 2010 Villiera Traditional Bush Vine Sauvignon Blanc (R90)
  • 2009 Pebble Hill by Waterford (R71)
  • 2010 Diemersfontein Cabernet Sauvignon (R75)
  • Miss Molly Bubbly by Moreson (R75)

Then I also got a nice selection of foodie goodies and a little somethin’ extra:

From left to right:

  • Uberpro Instant Red wine stain remover (R79.99)
    ** I’m really excited about this product because 1. I am very clumsy and 2. I have very clumsy friends… not going to name names, but Leigh knows I’m talking about her.  Whoops. Sorry Leigh! :)
  • Carmien Organic Rooibos for kids (R10)
    ** This one’s being regifted to a lady at work who’s little girl loves this stuff, cause clearly I’m not a “kids” anymore.
  • Morgenster  Extra Virgin Olive Oil (R60)
  • Crede Oh Mega Crunchy Peanut Butter (R30)
  • Angelfoods Vanilla Bean Fudge (R25)
    ** Have already dug into this one and I can honestly say it’s probably the best fudge I’ve had in years.  Super creamy, amazing vanilla taste.  Fudge heaven right there.

So total value of this box = R515.99.  But as a member, I only paid R295.  That’s a saving of just under 43% and you can bet your ass I’m smiling all the way.  Oh and remember, delivery is totally FREE.  Love that.

They also included two recipe cards.  One is for rooibos chocolate cupcakes and the other is for a chicken & bacon tagliatelle.  Because I can’t cook or bake to save my life, I’m going to flaunt the cupcake recipe at work cause my “neighbour” is amazing at baking and I’m hoping she’ll bite and bring in treats for the office. hehehehehe.  The pasta dish is being palmed off to the BF - gonna totally guilt him into making me dinner by using some random reason for why I’m feeling neglected or something.  Yes, I’m evil like that. ;)

The Ooh! Box… oooooh

Last week my first Ooh! Box arrived and I’m happy to report that it’s totally awesome.  Check it out:

But what’s inside?  Well first you have some wine – 4 glorious bottles to be exact:

And then a variety of gourmet “foodie” things:

And the best part is that I got all that, including FREE delivery for only R295!  Ooh! Box is a new initiative where you sign up for a monthly “taste box”.  The products are hand picked by the Ooh! Box experts to ensure that you’re getting only the best… and for way less.   This is for example the value of the items in my first box:

  • 1 x Avontuur Chardonay Pinot Noir -R58
  • 1 x Kanu Keystone – R120
  • 1 x Spier Creative Block 5 – R115
  • 1 x Zevenwacht Sauvignon Blanc – R67
  • 1 x Rio Largo Balsamic Vinegar – R48
  • 1 x Morgenster Black Olive Paste – R32
  • 1 x Dalla Cia Grappa Chocolates – R85
  • 1 x Khoisan 100% Organic Bourbon Vanilla Rooibos – R18

TOTAL  = R543.  So that’s a saving of about 46%.  Impressive stuff…

The contents of the box will change month to month and the saving won’t always be exactly the same (some months might be more, some might be less), but they do guarantee that it will always be a pretty damn good deal AND the subscription price stays the same, no matter what the value of the box is.

Other costs?  Just a annual membership fee of R114.  Minimum subscription is for 3 months only, after that you can opt-out anytime you want.

The only catch is that they only have 1000 spaces available.  So if you’re keen, you need to act fast.  I have confirmed with them that there are still a few of the May boxes available at the introductory price of R295.  The June boxes will be released soon and they have decided to keep them at the R295 price for now as well.  The subscription price might go up slightly at some point, but they are playing it by ear for the moment.

I’m very excited about the June box.  I hear it’s going to include wine from Waterford, Diemersfontein and Asara PLUS a Bubbly from Moreson called Miss Molly.  This is definitely something which is going to make the cold winter days more bearable. :)
