Louis Vuitton adds some dots and spots and other crazy things…

A friend of mine gave me a tip-off about the new Louis Vuitton windows at the V&A Waterfront…  seems the folks at Louis Vuitton have gotten all arty & stuff and thus decided to do a collaboration with Japanese sculptor, painter & novelist Yayoi Kasuma.

Now I’m not going to act like I knew who the hell Yayoi Kasuma was beforehand… and if you’re sitting there reading this going “oh yeah it’s that chick that did blah and blah”, you’re totally lying. ;)   I had to resort to a good Google stalk session, but I’m really glad I did, cause this lady’s stuff is pure awesome.  She’s definitely got a new fan here.

Yayoi is known for being obsessed with dots, she also loves bright colours and interesting shapes and she’s raised quite a few eyebrows during her career.  Sounds like my kinda lady then…  She spent a large part of her life living & working in New York where she got quite a lot of exposure, then she moved back to Japan in 1973 where she has continued to create, provoke & inspire all the way.  Do a bit of reading up on her for yourself, her journey’s quite interesting.

Anyhoo, back to those windows.  Check ‘em out:

Doesn’t this remind you of a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean?  I soooooo badly wanted to touch it…

And then this is most certainly very Alice in Wonderland…

But it’s not just the window displays that’s gone all dotty, there’s also a range of dotty shoes and bags and accessories waiting for you:

Ooooooh…  it’s so shiny…

For more dottiness, check out the launch of the first Yayoi Kasuma concept store in Singapore here.  Also the Louis Vuitton Yayoi Kasuma mini site here.

And if you now have a weird urge to do a connect the dots puzzle, don’t stress, it’s perfectly normal.  Just hop on over here and get it out of your system. :)

Louis Vuitton means business

If you’re a regular reader you’ll know that I love the Louis Vuitton window displays in the V&A Waterfront.  You’ll usually find me lingering outside the store and not inside because I’ve told myself that I’ll only go in the day that I can actually afford to purchase something.  Yes, this might mean I’ll be stalking the store into my retirement, but that’s my plan and I’m damn well sticking to it. ;)

At the moment they’re doing a take on business travel and I think it’s so cute:

For the ladies…

And gentlemen…

If you are someone who travels quite a bit for business and is notoriously kak at packing  Hop on over to the Louis Vuitton website and check out their Art of Packing app.  It will help you ensure that you pack just the right amount of stuff and that you arrive without your things looking like it’s just come out of a freak tornado. :)

Louis Vuitton windows update

I think I was attracted to the new Louis Vuitton window displays because of my recent bullseye accomplishment during a particularly legendary drunken game of darts…

That's how I roll losers...

Why would I say that?  Well check it out:I’m not exactly sure, but I think what the people at Louis Vuitton are trying to tell us here is that owning a kick-ass Vuitton bag is like a fashion bullseye.

Right-y-o then.  I better get serious about saving up then… well either that or get a sugar daddy.  Hmmmmmm, that last option does seem like the more realistic one. :)

Lovin’ the new Louis Vuitton window displays

Louis Vuitton at the V&A Waterfront has mixed 3 of my favourite things on the planet in their latest window displays:  bags, shoes and…. wait for it…. cupcakes!!!

If you haven’t yet witnessed the awesomeness, here you go:

One day when I’m a big girl, maybe I will be able to afford to actually go inside. ;)
